How to Find Your Receipt Online
To retrieve your in-warehouse purchase receipts through Costco.com, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Costco.com account. Your membership must be verified before you can view receipts.
- Click Orders & Returns in the upper right corner of the Costco.com home page.
- Select the In-Warehouse tab under Orders & Purchases.
- Receipts display in six-month increments. Use the Showing dropdown to select the time period you need.
- Find your transaction and view or download it.
New in-warehouse purchases can take up to 24 hours to appear in your online history. Pharmacy purchases will display as “Universal” on your transaction receipt when viewed online.
How Far Back Records Go
Costco stores in-warehouse purchase receipts for up to two years. If you need a receipt for a purchase older than two years, you must visit the membership desk at your local warehouse in person to request it.
For online Costco.com orders, receipts are available for any order placed within the last two years. You can access these the same way: log in, select Orders & Returns, then choose the appropriate tab.
What You Need to Look Up a Receipt
To access your receipts online, you need:
- A Costco.com account linked to your membership
- Your membership to be verified
- The approximate date or date range of your purchase
If you do not have a Costco.com account, you can create one on the Costco website. Note that you can only view purchase history for the membership account linked to your login, not other family members’ memberships.
Getting a Duplicate Receipt at the Warehouse
If you prefer a physical duplicate receipt or cannot access your account online, visit the membership desk at your local Costco warehouse. They can print a duplicate receipt for any purchase within the two-year window. There is no charge for this service. Bring your membership card to speed up the process.
For purchases older than two years, the membership desk can attempt to look up your transaction, but availability depends on warehouse records.
Items Not Showing in Online History
Some purchases do not appear in your Costco.com purchase history:
- Gasoline – Only available for purchases on or after September 30, 2024. Older fuel purchases will not show online.
- Pharmacy purchases – Display as “Universal” transactions but can be viewed in your history.
For questions about these items, contact your local warehouse or reach out to Costco Customer Service.
Using the Costco App
You can also access your receipts through the Costco Mobile App. The app securely stores your purchase history for both online and in-warehouse purchases, allowing you to view and print receipts on the go. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play and sign in with your Costco.com account to view your receipts anywhere.
Common Issues and Solutions
“I lost my receipt from a few weeks ago.” Sign in to Costco.com, go to Orders & Returns, select In-Warehouse, and find the transaction in the correct six-month period. You can download and print it immediately.
“My purchase is not showing online yet.” Wait up to 24 hours for new purchases to appear in your online history. If it has been longer than 24 hours, visit the membership desk.
“I need a receipt from two and a half years ago.” Online lookup will not work. Go to the membership desk at your local warehouse and ask them to search their records. They may be able to help depending on how long the warehouse retains older records.
“I do not have a Costco.com account.” Create one on Costco.com using your membership number and email. Once verified, you can immediately access your two-year purchase history. If you need help setting up an account, ask at the membership desk during your next warehouse visit.
Other Costco Policies That May Help
If you are looking up a receipt because you want to return an item, check Costco’s return policy for your product type. If you need to confirm a price you paid, learn about the Costco price adjustment policy to see if you qualify for a refund. If you received a Costco gift card and need to check the balance or transaction, your receipt helps with that process. Those shopping with Costco coupons can verify applied discounts by reviewing the receipt details online.
